The news is Nokia is now planning to make Dual SIM mobile phones like Motorola, Samsung and LG. The talks of Nokia getting in the Dual SIM market were out before too, and now it has been certified by Nokia itself. Nokia has always been popular in the market globally until last few years when many other cell phone makers emerged as competitors. There could be many reasons why Nokia is working towards this:
1. Since a few years, which once used to be top brand, Nokia is now loosing its hold on the market. So this could be one way to re-establish its lost demand.
2. Many mobile phone manufacturers have already used Dual SIM feature in their mobile phone units, so Nokia may be trying to be parallel with those companies.

The advantage with dual SIM is that it can be cost effective. A lot of us have to keep two cell phone numbers for different roles. And for two different numbers one needs two different cell phone handsets. But with Nokia Dual SIM function in the phone, the cost of having another cell phone gets saved. In just one handset, one could use two numbers. The Dual SIM phones have been accepted well in the Asian market. And Samsung is one of the top cell phone manufacturers. Nokia will have to employ fresh and smart schemes to win over Samsung users and get itself consumers.
